The beauty brand officially closed down in June 2025 as part of a consolidation strategy to relaunch products under the SKIMS brand.WHO: Kim Kardashian launched KKW Beauty in 2017 with contouring products and introduced KKW Fragrance. In 2022, both brands were shuttered with a plan to return with “a completely new brand with new formulas that are more modern, innovative and packaged in an elevated and sustainable new look,” she said in a statement at the time. Coty helped Kardashian expand into skincare in 2022 with SKKN by Kim, a nine-step system including a toner, exfoliator, hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C8 serum, face cream, eye cream, oil drops, and night oil. In January 2024, the brand got back into color cosmetics, introducing SKKN by Kim makeup. WHY: Following the acquisition of Coty's stake in the SKKN business by Kim, the company shut down, planning to integrate its offerings into the SKIMS brand.IN THEIR OWN WORDS: The brand announced the decision in a social media post: "While this chapter is coming to a close, the commitment to innovation, self-care, and skin confidence that SKKN embodied will live on in new and exciting ways."DETAILS:SKKN by KIM officially closed on June 29.In March 2025, SKIMS acquired Coty's stake in KKW Beauty, and Kardashian’s 80% was transferred to SKIMS.In 2020, Coty signed a licensing deal with Kim Kardashian and agreed to buy a 20% stake in her existing KKW brand for $200 million, valuing the three-year-old business at $1 billion.
